La Minita, meaning “the small mine,” carries a legacy as rich as the land itself. According to local legend, pre-Columbian indigenous people once searched these hills for gold. Today, that treasure takes the form of coffee.
Located on a pristine 1,200-acre estate, only 800 acres are under coffee cultivation. The remaining 400 acres include a 200-acre natural forest reserve that will remain untouched, preserving the region’s biodiversity.
True to its name, La Minita is a gem in the world of specialty coffee. From every 100 pounds of freshly harvested cherries, just 23 pounds make the final cut—meticulously selected and processed to meet the estate’s uncompromising quality standards. The result is a cup that reflects both the dedication to craft and the remarkable terroir of this historic Costa Rican farm.
