  • Ethiopia Guji

    •  Tasting Notes: Blueberry & Strawberry with a delicious balanced finish.
    • Roast Level: Light
    • Guji coffee has been receiving a lot of attention from the specialty coffee world in the past several years, and for good reason.  Many privately owned washing stations have sprung up recently, in an area that has traditionally processed coffee using a natural (dry) method.  The quality of these washed coffees can be outstanding, which isn’t surprising considering the area’s close proximity to Yirgacheffe.  “Close” is relative in terms of travel in Ethiopia where 100 km can mean a 10 hour drive, silver lining being the incredible variety of terrain and culture relatively short distances.

    Amazing flavor

This coffee is so different! It’s light and fruity, didn’t know different beans could taste so different. And this bean has so much more flavor than other light roasts. Great job Caffe Lusso!

I have been buying this coffee since I was first introduced to it five years ago. It is the best.

    Very enjoyable variety.

I enjoy the fruity notes and smoothness on these beans. Grind size and water temp are critical as always to allow it to bloom without scorching it.

Nobody will drink anything else now

Many beans are abandoned and languishing in frozen, vacuum-sealed sarcophagi because of the Lusso Guji.

This is not the Ethiopian blueberry bombs of yore (which seem lost to the world these days). But Lusso has coaxed a lustrous blueberry liquor that turns into a fruity, chocolaty bliss in milk. Easy to pull, consistent, and somehow always a pleasant surprise in the cup.
