Sumatra is known for producing bold and rich coffees that boast full body and viscosity. Our Sumatra is diligently harvested by triple-picking the ripest fruit before sun-drying is done in small batches. This method produces a concentrated presentation of the full flavors of Indonesian coffee.
DIRECT TRADE
Our goal is to ethically source specialty coffee from around the globe in a sustainable manner for both Caffe Lusso and the farmers involved. We achieve this through established direct trade farm relationships and pay these estates above market value for their beautiful product. Our direct relationship with these farmers not only provides wage stability for the farmers but ensures predictability in sourcing and quality of product.
GROWING PRACTICES
Caffe Lusso believes that the quality and sustainability of our coffees stems from the farm level. We work with farmers that grow their coffees without the use of pesticides or insecticides ensuring less harm to the farm workers, environment and coffee grown.
Environment and Waste Management
As a company we take pride in our roast waste management. All coffee chaff and grounds are recycled through the city of Redmond Compost Program.
Roasting is central to our product and can produce issues in the environment if not done correctly. Caffe Lusso Roastery roasts coffee in state-of-the-art roasters that are certified and approved by the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency and therefore produce no significant burden on the environment.
